VIVA VERSACE!
Heels, hair, and hemlines to there! We go behind Milan's style revolution

MILAN - This evening Donatella Versace, the queen of Milan's avant garde, sent a searingly smart collection down the city's catwalks, cementing her role as the creative driving force behind Italian fashion. Inspired by the structuralist concepts of Michel Foucault and the work of the 1920s French outsider artist Philibert Antoine Le Moiturier, Versace brought down the house. "What is mind but motion in the intellectual sphere?" asked a perturbed Versace of various reporters backstage after her triumphant défilé. Just minutes earlier, her collection of boiled wool trapeze pants, nylon balloon coats, and heavy-soled platform boots (a collaboration with Doc Martens) had marched down the runway to ecstatic applause. "She is...an enigma," exclaimed fellow designer Raf Simons, who sat front row despite his looming Jil Sander show on Saturday. "I can only hope that one day I might transcend the innate tackiness and trashy flash of my design sensibility to communicate the same raw power and emotion as Donatella."

INSIDE THE BOOM BOOM ROOM BY TAVI GEVINSON
Everyone's favorite fashion prodigy recounts New York fashion week's closing night

NEW YORK - I was truly humbled when asked by WWWWD to pen a social review of New York fashion week's ultimate post-show hang out, The Standard's Boom Boom Room. The swank club, located in the penthouse of the hotel, was packed with fashion icons and up-and-comers—my eyes were boggled at seeing them all in one place! On the last night of fashion week, I spotted Lindsay Lohan and her beautiful new lips. She kept spilling some weird powder on the table and smelling it each time (I bet it was Dior's Luminous Translucent Poudre-ugh! Smells sooo good! Want!) The smart and sassy Candy Pratts Price joined her in between Jager shots. In the other corner, famed photographers Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott were play-fighting and throwing glitter at each other, looking totally in love. There were also the boys of Proenza Schouler , sitting at opposite tables. They kept chucking ice at each other's dates, but all four ended up going to the bathroom at the same time and came back looking so happy. Guess they worked that out! Yay! Lastly, I saw the eternally beautiful Lily Donaldson dancing all night with a gorgeous model I recognized from the Thom Browne show. He seemed like he was totally crushing on her—he even left holding her purse! Swoon. She didn't even know he left, he must've been surprising her with it later. I wish I could've stayed all night! Thanks to André Balazs and The Standard and to my new friends! See you next year! Xxoxoo
